The Air Jordan 6 turned twenty five years old this year and the latest major release of the model was that of the returning “Maroon” colorway from December 2015, which was also recently restocked. The 2016 Jordan releases of a brand new Air Jordan 6 iteration has yet to take place this year; at least as far as adult-sized sneakers are concerned. While there have been rumors that the Jumpman might drop Spike Lee’s Air Jordan 6 PE “Oscars,” no adult-sized Air Jordan 6 has arrived at retailers yet. Fortunately for small-footed Jordanheads, soon they will have two different colors to cop.
The first upcoming GS GG iteration of the Air Jordan 6 has an upper made up of nubuck, which is dressed up predominantly in Grey. The ankle collar and heel portion of this sneaker as well as the overlays, all consist of Black tumbled leather. The branding visible on the sneaker, such as the Jumpman at the front, and the midsoles are all covered in the same crisp White hue. The sneaker is also equipped with icy translucent outsoles, which complete the look. This colorway is perhaps the more ominous than the other one.
The second Air Jordan 6 that will be exclusively GS-/GG-sized likely makes Jordanheads think of the Air Jordan 5 “Pro Stars.” It features a nearly all-White upper, while more vibrant hues like Fuchsia and Volt make an appearance over the branding, soles and tongues of the sneaker. The translucent Volt-colored portions of the soles definitely make this sneaker stand out.
As of right now, there is no information regarding the Jordan releases 2016 of the more subtle yet vibrant colorway, but the date for the retail debut of the other has been confirmed. Apparently, small-footed Jordanheads will have to wait for over two months or so because the Black and Grey Air Jordan 6 GS GG will not hit the shelves until May 21st and when it does, it will be available for $140.
