Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior is the forward or winger of both the Brazil national football team and FC Barcelona. He also happens to be one of Michael Jordan’s countless admirers. As a means of reciprocating that admiration and reaching out to the sneakerheads among Neymar’s own fanbase, Jordan Brand has apparently named a brand new Air Jordan 5 Low colorway after him. While sneaker itself has not been entirely unveiled, but it seems like both MJ and Neymar fans would like want to add a pair to their collection. Rumors are also alluding to when its Jordan release dates 2016 could potentially take place.
This is the first time that Jordan Brand has branched out in this manner, with the release of a basketball shoe that has the name of an international soccer star attached to it. Rumors about Jordan Brand’s plan to drop an Air Jordan 5 Low rendition that Neymar himself would design begun circulating ever since last year. Of course, no color description and/or photos of the sneaker itself had surfaced back then. Fortunately, Instagram user @mysole recently shared these photos that provide a glimpse of what the sneaker looks like, albeit not unveiling it completely.
Unlike any previous Air Jordan 5 Low colorway, this one is completely made up of reflective 3M material with the Cement print speckles covering the entire upper. The 3M upper of this sneaker features Black and Crimson accents, which can be spotted throughout. Along with the fact that the inner tongue tag bears Neymar’s name in personalized font, one shoe sports 10 instead of 23, since that is the 24-year-old soccer player’s number in the Brazil national football team.
Even though Jordanheads have now gotten a first look at the sneaker, a date has not yet been announced for its Jordan release dates 2016. However, the Air Jordan 5 Low “Neymar” is likely going to hit the shelves during Fall 2016, as the rumors have been suggesting.
