News regarding the apparent Jordan release 2016 of the Air Jordan 9 Low, a silhouette that had not hit the shelves in quite a long time, began spreading at some point back in September 2015. Some Jordanheads may have even noticed that it resembles one of Derek Anderson’s Air Jordan 9 Low PE from last year. However, it turns out that the Air Jordan 9 Low “Black/White” is not the only colorway of the model that will be arriving this year. A photo has surfaced online of another Air Jordan 9 Low rendition that also resembles another Air Jordan 9 from 2012.
Indeed, the Air Jordan 9 Low will make its comeback this year in not one but two colorways and the one featured here actually looks like a low-top version of the Air Jordan 9 “Motorboat Jones.” Jordan brand had dropped the Air Jordan 9 “Motorboat Jones” in late 2012 as a part of the Johnny Kilroy pack, which included 5 other sneakers. Motorboat Jones is actually the name of a character that Michael Jordan played back when he used to appear in 90’s Kilroy commercials and this Air Jordan 9 iteration was named after that character in honor of him.
Instagram user @zsneakerheadz shared the photo of the similar-looking mystery Air Jordan 9 rendition Low featured here. Its entirely upper appears to be dressed in a combination of Bright Crimson and some other shade of Red, which gives it a monochromatic appearance. Adding some contrasting, the the laces, midsole branding and tongue of this sneaker are covered in Black, while Black speckles can also be spotted on the Red midsole. Moreover, this sneaker also features Gold and Yellow Jordan branding, which is visible on the heel and tongue.
As of now, absolutely nothing is known about this sneaker and what it actually might be. Hence, there is currently no way of knowing when its Jordan release 2016 is actually going to take place.
