Most Jordanheads happen to be basketball enthusiasts too, but many of them also happen to be fans of basketball as well. Any of those reading this are likely familiar with Gio Gonzalez, who is currently the Washington Nationals’ pitcher. He also happens to be signed with Jumpman at the moment, so Jordan Brand keeps sending him the latest Air Jordan sneakers months prior to their schedule release. Back in December 2015, Jordan Brand had hooked him up with sneakers like the Air Jordan 2 “Radio Raheem,” Air Jordan 4 “Alternate ’89” and the Air Jordan 12 “The Master,” all of which made their official retail debut this year.
Now, merely two months later, it turns out that Gio Gonzalez has received another haul of Air Jordan sneakers, many of which will not be available until spring. Earlier this month, he posted a photo on his Instagram account that shows off all of the kicks that are now a part of his collection. Amongst them there appears to be the Air Jordan 1 High OG “David Letterman,” the Air Jordan 10 “NYC” and the Air Jordan 17+ “Copper.” However, the sneaker that apparently stood out the most of them all is an all-red Air Jordan 2 Low pair because it has never been seen before.
More recently, Instagram user @icyheatsole share clearer and more detailed photos of the all-red Air Jordan 2 Low that Gio Gonzalez already owns. The leather that the sneaker’s upper is made up of appears to be featuring a reptile-texture and is dressed up entirely in red. In fact, even the inner lining, laces, midsoles, outsoles and tongues are completely covered in the same hue, which makes it a truly all-red sneaker. The only contrasting hues visible make a minimal appearance in the form of the black Air Jordan logo on the tongues and the hyper turquoise beneath the outsoles.
Considering that Gio Gonzalez already has a pair can be taken as a sign that the retail debut of this unnamed Air Jordan 2 is scheduled to take place this year. In fact, rumor has it that it will hit the shelves in early April and its retail price will be $160.
