The first day of the New Year may not have been of much significance to Jordanheads, but Jordan Brand is set to kick things off with a major 2016 Jordan releases from their Air Jordan Retro “Alternate Collection”. The Air Jordan 4 is regarded as one of Michael Jordan’s most iconic models and is referred to as a gem from 1989, which is the year it was originally released. While the original colorways of the Air Jordan 4 are undoubtedly remarkable and unmatched, but the “Aternate 89” iteration that has now hit the shelves could have been a hit back in the days.
The year may have changed, but Jordan Brand’s routine of dropping retro Air Jordan sneakers is not going to change. So, the first Air Jordan retro of 2016 will be the colorway of the fourth model from the “Alternate Collection.” The theme behind the collection and the sneakers its contains is to depict what alternate Player Exclusive colorways of iconic Air Jordan silhouettes would have looked like if inspired and made to match his uniforms from back then. So, the “Alternate ’89” really is an alternate rendition of the Air Jordan 4.
It is quite obvious that the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate ’89” sports a colorscheme that borrows the official colors of the Chicago Bulls. Hence, it would have been a spectacle had it actually been created for Michael Jordan to rock on the court. Nonetheless, the sneaker’s upper is made up of a predominantly White-colored premium tumbled leather, white the eyelets, portions of the midsole and the unique netting feature traces of Red. Black accents can also be spotted on the heel, outsole and tongue. The Jordan release 2016 of the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate ’89” has indeed taken place and it is currently available in three different sizes, namely TD, PS and GS that are available at prices of $60, $80 and $140, respectively, from select Jordan Brand and Nike retailers.
