After years of absence from the $2.3 billion juggernaut of a company, Shane McMahon recently made his shocking, unexpected WWE comeback. Apart from the surprise when Shane-O-Mac walked out of the curtains, another thing that likely caught sneakerheads in the crowd off guard is that he was laced up in a pair of the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago.” To thank Shane for being a part of #TeamJordan, Jordan Brand sent him five boxes, each containing a different Air Jordan sneaker, one of which was revealed to be the Air Jordan 2 “Wing It.” It turns out that the upcoming Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” is amongst them too.
We recently made a post about Shane McMahon’s Air Jordan 2 “Wing It” pair, which he had worn when he appeared on last week’s Monday Night Raw. Via a Tweet, Shane had thanked “#TeamJordan” for lacing him up for last week on “#RAW.” Apparently, having unboxed the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” pair that the Jumpman had sent him warranted another Tweet. This time around, Shane-O-Mac expressed his love for French things, namely French fries, French wine, and of course, “French Blues.” He also thanked @Jumpman23 for the love they showed him and it is obvious that he is officially #TeamJordan.
The Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” is not really an OG colorway of the model, but Jordanheads covet it far more than certain classic Air Jordan 12 colorways. It was back in 2004 when this sneaker last hit the shelves as a retro for the very first time, and since it is the 20th anniversary of the twelfth Air Jordan silhouette this year, it is no wonder that the “French Blue” iteration returns after twelve years.
With the combination of white tumbled leather and overlays dressed up in French blue, along with black, grey and metallic silver accents, this year’s version looks just like the original. So, those who never managed to cop the OG or the 2004 retro should be ready to head out on March 26 and grab a pair of the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” as it arrives at retailers.
