In association of Michael Jordan and as a subsidiary of Nike, Jordan Brand has been selling their branded Air Jordan sneakers for decades now. With each passing year, Michael Jordan’s NBA career from ages ago becomes a distant memory, one that has not faded from the minds of basketball enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike. Jordan Brand’s contribution to keeping the memory alive definitely helps, with every new highly-anticipated Air Jordan sneaker that they introduce. As of now, it is the Jordan release dates of the debuting Air Jordan 30 rendition that is keeping the sneaker world on their toes.
With all the hype-creating advertising prior to the official unveiling of the Air Jordan 30, Jordan Brand made it evident that Russell Westbrook would be the poster boy of their Air Jordan 30 campaign. Their campaign for the latest, 30th installment in their signature Air Jordan lineup also suggests that Russell Westbrook is currently Jordan Brand’s lead athlete.
It was back on January 15th when Russell Westbrook first introduced the Air Jordan 30, which coincided with his team Oklahoma City Thunder’s victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Just recently, Russell posted a video of a new advertisement for the Air Jordan 30 on his Twitter account, and one of the best things about the ad is the kid who appears in it, hyping up the thirtieth Air Jordan sneaker. This advertisement probably reminds Jordanheads of the days when Mars Blackmon used to create hype for new Air Jordan sneakers.
Considering that the upcoming retail debut of the Air Jordan 30 is nothing short of a flight taking off, it makes sense when Russell tells the audience in the ad that he has gotten them a window seat. Russell’s line resembles a notorious line from the 1992 film, Flight in White Men Can’t Jump. Nonetheless, whether or not they end up having a window seat, Jordanheads will be able to grab a pair of the Air Jordan 30 for $300 when its Jordan release 2016 takes place on February 12th.
