The Jordans release of the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” will be Jordan Brand’s last major retro release of this year. A majority of Jordanheads will have to wait until the next month nears its end in order to get their hands on this highly-anticipated retro, but one particular lucky individual has already copped a pair. Rip Hamilton is once again in the news for becoming the proud owner of a pair of sneakers that have not even hit the shelves yet, and of course, the soon to be released Air Jordan 8 “Chrome.”
Even though Rip Hamilton’s NBA days are over, he is fortunate enough to have been a Jordan Brand athlete, which is apparently still proving to be great for him. Apparently it has become somewhat of a trend for Rip Hamilton to preview and showcase his sneaker hauls, which often consist of unreleased retro pairs. For instance, not so long ago he provided his Instagram followers an early look at the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “Croc” and the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” before their actual retail debut. More recently, Rip even posted photos of the black Supreme x Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” and the Air Jordan 11 “72-10.” Now he is flaunting the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” that he owns.
It is quite a coincidence that 2003 year in which both the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” made its retail debut and Rip Hamilton finished his inaugural season, moving on to represent the Detroit Pistons in their 2004 season, in which they won the title. By now, Jordanheads are likely aware that the upper of the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” is entirely made up of black nubuck. Both the midsole and tongue patch feature grey accents, while chrome detailing that this sneaker gets its nickname from can also be spotted throughout.
Many Jordanheads are now probably wishing they were Rip Hamilton. Of course, that is not the case, which means that they will have to wait until the official Jordan releases of the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” takes place on December 26th.
