Air Jordan purists have never really been fans of the low-cut forms of any of Jordan Brand’s signature retro models. However, their loathing for low-top Air Jordan versions has never extended to the Air Jordan 11 Low for some reason. In fact, many Jordanheads consider the Air Jordan 11 Low as an ideal sneaker for the summer and with summer just around the corner, no wonder the low-top silhouette is being slated to arrive at retailers in the near future. In fact, the Air Jordan 11 Low is being slated to make its comeback in one of its most popular colorways.
Back in 2001, Jordan Brand had whipped a “White/Varsity Red” rendition of the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low, which made its retail debut on April 14th of that year at a price of $115. On that very day, Jordan Brand had dropped several other sneakers, but it was the Air Jordan 11 Low “White/Varsity Red” that gained tremendous popularity during that summer. Although the Jumpman have yet to confirm whether or not this sneaker is indeed returning, detailed photos of it have surfaced. One of those photos reveals the inner tongue tag and the production dates printed on it appear to be from 2016.
Much like the retro from 15 years ago, this year’s version also appears to be featuring a predominantly white upper. The base of the sneaker sports a red patent leather overlay along it. Of course, it is also equipped with the signature all-white midsoles and clear, icy, translucent rubber outsoles. Despite being a simple colorway, the glossy, red-colored patent leather certainly makes it captivating and stand out. In terms of its performance-related, technical features, it like consists of ballistic nylon uppers, a carbon fiber spring plate, herringbone traction pattern under the outsoles, and a quick lace system.
As mentioned, Jordan Brand has not announced when this sneaker might hit the shelves or confirmed if it is even actually returning this year. However, if the information visible on the inner tongue tag of the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low“White/Varsity Red” as seen in the photos is true, then it will possibly soon be up for grabs.
