The Air Jordan 1 High was the sneaker that kicked off Michael Jordan’s NBA legacy and marked the launch of his majestic footwear line. The Air Jordan 1 High can also be credited for the birth of Jordan Brand and all the numbered, signature Air Jordan sneakers that have succeeded it to this date. Despite having debuted way back in 1985, considering how quickly the Air Jordan 1 High became an instant hit and seller, it is no wonder Jordan Brand continues dropping new and old colorways to this day. Thus, the upcoming Jordan release of several new Air Jordan 1 High iterations should not surprise readers.
Much like last year, it seems that the trend of the Elephant print making an appearance over Air Jordan 1 High renditions continues to live on. The latest Elephant print-covered Air Jordan 1 High recently arrived at retailers on February 11th and it is a very subtle one. The predominantly White leather upper of the sneaker appears to have been topped with Pure Platinum overlays that also feature the Elephant Print, while the branding, inner lining and outsole are all in Black.
Of course, women will not be left out of the chance to get their hands on an Air Jordan 1 High and indeed, a GS-exclusive iteration is on its way. In fact, the color scheme of this upcoming Air Jordan 1 High for women resembles that of the Air Jordan 5 Low GG “Camo” that Jordan Brand dropped not so long ago. Despite the lack of an official nickname, this Air Jordan 1 High GS is already up for grabs at a retail price of $110.
While Jordanheads are probably hoping to read about some OG colorways, two of the latest “Metallic” colorways of the Air Jordan 1 High are also not original ones, but they definitely look dope. However, Jordanheads hoping to cop either or both will have to wait for a date to be announced for their Jordan release 2016.
